Ministers' Pay S$10k A Day!

 

Sylvia Lim.......way to go! You'd really spoken with HEART for Singaporean!! This excellent speech was back in 2006 or 07.

Sylvia's important points back in 2006 are still relevant now, in fact, even more crucial today as the PAP is really getting out of hands.

(1) ministers must lead with not just the head but also the heart

(2) politic should not be just a 2nd career for head honchos of GLC, army, perm sec and others linked to PAP. There must be a special calling other than just money.

(3) PAP ministers HUGE pay in perspective. Definitions; 

-Workdays =20

-MP yrly pay =$1,200,000

-Avg people yrly pay =$30,000.

--> Avg people monthly pay = $2500 = ministers 1/2 day's pay.

--> ministers one day pay =$5000 (this was 2006, now the pay even higher between $7~10K per day)...............your hard earned money in their pockets via their tax vehicles like GST, income tax, ERP, COE, obscene ministers pay and many others !!!

(4) PAP is totally dis-engaged with the people because of their SWELLED head and pockets. Their heads so badly swelled that they could no longer SEE nor FEEL for the people.

She was debating in parliament on Workers Party's disagreement on ministers PAY. As usual, PAP just turned a deaf ear, allow opposition to speak (go through motions) and still bulldoze through and pass the bill. This clearly illustrate time and again that we need to vote in more good oppositions MP to check-n-balance what the government plans to implement. In fact, in the business world, this is called corporate governance that we engaged external auditors and independent director to "minimize" chances of wrong doing. I used the word minimize because it's impossible to eradicate fraud totally. So, do you think we should continue to give PAP absolute power to go down that road?? PAP may be clean before, even at this moment but can you guarantee the future PAP will not corrupt?? The power is in your hand this coming election.
